How to avoid using my phone?
I'm 14 years old (girl) and I am on summer vacation. I have been bored these past few days because recently it hasn't been the warmest weather for this time of year (70's) so I can't go to the beach or anything like I normally would. That means I have just been sitting on my phone. I want to avoid everything because I'm so addicted to my phone, I haven't gone a day without it. I have no problem being on my iPad's and stuff because I have no social media downloaded and messaging is turned off. I shut off my phone at 10:00 p.m last night and currently 9:35 a.m. I'm struggling so, I really want to turn on my phone and just see all the texts/snapchats/and calls I've missed. I have a group of friends and it's me, 2 guys, and 2 girls. Currently we're all going through a lot right now and lots of drama about me and one of the guys having a thing with each other and one of the girls and the other guy having a thing with each other, etc. Then also some people in our group are going through a lot or acting different. Why I powered my phone off is because if people text me and it doesn't say "delivered" I want them to realize I'm taking a break. Anyways, I just want to do something where I have so much fun and forget I have a phone. I love those days and those people that make me like that. Also, I can't drive so I can't go anywhere. I could go to a friends house but I always end up being on my phone anyways. What can I do to avoid my phone and not use it for at least 2 days minimum?

It's good you realize that you have an unhealthy dependency on your phone. That's not unusual these days - most of us do! If it's not your friends you're avoiding in general, why not give them a call and ask to hang out?
If you want to spend some time by yourself, then the only way to take your mind off your phone is to do something you enjoy - so what do you enjoy?
Here are some ideas to help get you started:
*Get creative. Paint, draw, do arts and crafts, or make a photo collage of all your favourite memories.
*Read a good book.
*Find some online recipes and get baking.
*See if there are any local opportunities for volunteering. Not only does it kill time, but you will meet new people, gain valuable experience for your CV, and it feels great to help others.
*Talk to your parents about any fun activities you can do as a family. Go to a local food festival, a theme park, a zoo, go to the cinema. Even just staying inside and playing cards or board games. You'd be surprised at how entertaining and fun it can be!
*Go swimming.
*Look for local exercise classes. Try something new, such as Zumba or martial arts.

You are not a puppet.
Use some self control, leave your phone with a friend with the instruction not to give it back to you except on an emergency

Go out kayaking or surfing on a windy day. You won't even think about your phone when you have all you can do to stay upright. (Stay safe though) Try going on a hike and keep your phone turned off. The trick is to find something that keeps you busy and occupied
