should your friends pay their own gas?

I used to have two good friends until I started my business. When I started my business I started learning more and of course earning more money. My friends became annoying when they expected me to pay my own gas and drive them around hours away without chipping in. They also don't help with parking lot fees. The problem is they say they don't have money but according to their social media the vacations trips they take they do have money. It is not even that they don't have money it is that it seems convenient for them to save their money and leave certain stuff on me. No matter how much money I have or will have, I have not a big fan of helping others out for no reason just so they can save to have beers with other friends. I expect others to pay for their own stuff. It was how I was raised. What is your opinion?

if they were really your friends, they'd offer you money to help pay for gas and parking fees. they're just a bunch of leeches and you're a sucker for putting up with it. they only keep you around for the freebies. stop being so desperate to hang out with them. they aren't worth your time.

A true friend would chip in to cover mutual expenses, but sometimes you have to ask. If they aren't willing to chip in, then you leave their behinds at home because if not they are USING YOU.
