Should Congress write a Bill to designate English as the official language of the USA?

Update:

It would make sense to me, especially if President Trump would sign a Bill that requires Legal immigrants coming to America to speak the English language

Update 2:

Well, it seems some of these answers state that English already Is the Official we'll have to be thrown out because you haven't got a clue.

Update 3:

@Beardog: How would English being the Official language prevent anyone from speaking any other language? I speak a few foreign languages myself.

Former president FDR tried to put it into effect and it went no where. American English should be required for

all to learn once they come to this country. My ancestors did when they came here.

    British English or American English?

The law would have to be specific.

No, because if anything should be the Native Language of the United States, it ought to be Navajo or Cherokee or Tongva.
