Is it possible to lose your tolerance to horror movies?

I don't know if something has changed chemically in my brain or what but as a kid through my teens to the age of 22 I could watch any horror movie no problem. I haven't watched a horror movie in a year and now I see the new trailer for Annabelle and get chills just from the trailer. I watched the first one and thought it was horrible. But now the thought of watching any exorcism type like movie just seems impossible. Now I just watch satire horror films and slashers.

    Anything violent or scary disturbs me more than when I was younger. I no longer watch disturbing movies. With age also comes the ability to say, No, I don't want to watch that movie.
