My 2012 iMac computer reads DVDs but is not reading my burnt Verbatim DVD-R discs. What could be the problem?
I burnt the discs with the computer, but when I put them in it, it doesn't seem to read it. It just spits them back out after a couple of minutes.

It may be the optical drive is starting to fail. With time the tracking mechanism gradually wears and has difficulty following the tracks on the DVD disk. Less likely is the possibility that the disks are faulty.
