Nothing, it was a cynical poltical power move on their part, motivated by resentment that fewer and fewer people are validating their self-appointed role as the conscience of America. But their support of Trump only justified continuing to reject them as moral arbiters.

Both are anti-sodomite "marriage" and anti-abortion. Neither one of them is Hillary. That's all that was necessary.

I am one of them. Here is why I am one of them and will be again.
Jesus demonstrates His ongoing inspiration and Holy Spirit NOT through pursuits of 'technical perfection' or the hypocrisy required to sustain its appearance in a human being, but through the 'perfection' which GOD requires of us, (Matthew 5:48).
GOD's idea of a 'perfect' harvest is this:
'Make only one pass, leave behind all that remains and all that falls to the ground for the poor.'
If GOD was a 'technical perfectionist' the poor would have no hope at all.
Donald Trump is NOT perfect and does not pretend to be perfect as the world pretends is a 'requirement' of its leaders. Like all genuine Christians, he is walking the road to 'perfection' by GOD's standards, however. These are the traits of a 'genuine' Christian by which we recognize each other, (listed briefly in James 3:17);
1) Purity from all obvious governmental and criminal corruption, (most often accompanied by constant but unsuccessful attempts to slander, defame and impugn the character of the person refusing to be involved in the corruption);
2) Devotion to building peaceful and safe 'hospitable' environments for others; (the President has spent his life and business career building these);
3) Gentle use of power when violence is also possible; (President Trump very publicly uses law and social discourse to address attacks by his 'enemies' rather than using criminal force);
4) Certainty but reasonableness and openness to debate, (The President is often attacked for 'taking time to reason' rather than accept highly emotional arguments and react quicker);
5) Displays actual acts of mercy or compassion, defined as attempting to expose corruption in government or criminal enterprise, using this to free the oppressed, (The President ran on this platform and started his businesses as direct alternatives to government dependency and criminal lifestyles);
6) Unwavering stances and plans, certainty during debates; (The President is often maligned for saying, 'I am certain of this' and then changing his mind and saying, 'I am certain of this' again. This keeps his 'current best' position clear, publicly open and honest);
7) Lack of 'layers' or 'masks' hiding ulterior motives, also known as 'hypocrisy,' (The President is frequently chided for being 'too honest,' 'hurting people's feelings' and 'telling it like it is.' He speaks what many are only willing to think, right or wrong).
These are 'evidences' of genuine Christian faith and wisdom. The President's personal and 'technical' weaknesses do not interfere with these traits. They even give others the boldness to be better people when they see someone afflicted by these same weaknesses still manage to be honorable and decent, reasonable and confident, openly honest and forthright, stand his ground, and act decisively even while being defamed, maligned, slandered, persecuted and attacked with baseless lies.
That may not remind you of the Hollywood version of Jesus Christ, but it certainly reminds me of the REAL Jesus Christ. That is what a 'Christian,' (meaning, 'little Christ'), is supposed to be doing in this world. The rest is between himself and his Creator.

Christianity is a religion that endorses violent rabid hate-mongering ignorance and incessant bigotry. It has been used for thousands of years to endorse slavery and the natural superiority of Anglo-Europeans and their right to conquer subjugate and rule. Obviously Trump is the living embodiment of these Christian principals. Rolls eyes
