Why is my 2010 Hyundai Genesis consuming gas so quickly?
Hello, I recent purchased a 2010 Hyundai Genesis coupe 2.0t r-spec and have noticed that I am going through gas like crazy. It's manual and I haven't been driving to crazy. Just driving 30 miles it used almost 1/4th of my tank. Why is my car using to much gas?

Hi so what do you expect it is well-passed it. now outside the warranty period so might now need new injectors.

At best for a well-used 2.0t you can't expect much better than 18-20mpg around town. Issues could include:
Needs tuneup (plugs, filters, etc)
Siphoned fuel (i.e. stolen)
Fuel leak
Bad injectors
Bad ECU
Low tire pressure
Dragging brakes
Faulty gauge
Lead foot. I'd bet poor driving habits are the biggest contributor.

It's more likely your fuel gauge sending unit is not accurate. Fill the tank and set the trip odometer to zero and see how many mpg you actually get.

You bought the hot rod of the line, and you're grousing about fuel consumption?
Do you even know the volume of your tank?

It should give you at least 20mpg for that model. So, make sure you are not leaking. Or make sure that nobody is siphoning gas while you are away...
