If pain is an issue in your life, what solutions seem most helpful?

Mine seems under control & tolerable. I avoid opiates. I have used supplements such as acetyl l-carnitine, dhea. Also tried acupuncture and edible CBD - (a cannibis element). These have helped me.

Well, you are a sample size of one, so it's easy to fall for confirmation bias. It's highly unlikely the supplements have done much, and acupuncture is just a placebo, as shown in large studies. Chronic pain tends to wax and wane over time - it's likely you are in a waning stage at the moment.

I have severe osteoarthritis for the last 30 years, getting progressively worse.

I also cannot take opiates(because I like my brain, thank you) and the edibles I tried gave me nightmares and halucinations.

I take 1 ibuprofen, 2 fish oil, 2 gloucosamine/chondriotin/D, 1 Turmeric/cherry extract/ginger/ black pepper, and 2 tylenol twice a day. that keeps me mobile enough to do all my own house work, still have a job 3 days a week and can walk fairly well with a cane and longer distances with a walker.

Pain is my friend..I have some every day. During serious flareups, nothing works and I sleep a lot till it eases up.

Well, for arthritis, I ended up finally having steroid shots and radiofrequency ablation in my lower spine, and the relief I got was far superior than anything else I had tried. But before that, I got a little relief from guided meditation for relaxation at bedtime. I also lost weight, which helped a lot. I never took supplements, and opioids just made me itchy and confused.
