Is the claim " the Atlantic sea surface temperatures are not warm this year, so how come there is a string of hurricanes forming" correct?

    "Atlantic sea surface temperatures are not warm this year" is FALSE. A real skeptic would check.

    It is true. 2015 and 2016 had warmer Atlantic temperatures.

    However to be perfectly fair I should also point out 2015/2016 were El Nino years, it is known that fewer hurricanes form during El Nino's.

    There are a lot of factors that influence hurricanes, blaming them on global warming alone, is not correct.
