Poor fuel economy on my 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2.0T R-Spec?

I know that the car isn t going to get incredible fuel economy since it is turbo but I am getting around like 12 city and around 17 highway. Is this normal? Hyundai claims I should be getting around 21 city and 30 Highway but I am getting way under.

Hi this is so dependant on the the weight of your lead boot.

You didn't mention how many miles, if you have done any of the routine maintenance, or if you are the original owner.

I would suggest taking it to a qualified mechanic (a Hyundai dealership is most likely the best bet - but will cost more).

Drive with a lighter right foot. Turbos improve engine efficiency which increases mpg. Maybe your car needs a service? 5w-30 fully synthetic oil, air filter change plus new spark plugs should help. But if you floor the gas pedal any car will drink fuel.
