I think so, but it's a matter of what you think is worth your time. Is it worth your time to learn to play the flute? To learn to solve a Rubik's cube? Is it worth your time to get a master's degree? To learn to sew a button on your shirt?

Not everyone enjoys cooking, or has the time or patience for it, but it's a useful skill. It's related to eating, which is something everyone does! I find it very enjoyable (mostly). In college I realized I wasn't going to find a woman who knew how to cook so I better learn for myself. (Ironically, I did find a great cook, so cooking was something we often did together!)

OTOH more and more food today comes pre-prepared, so you just heat it up. So instead of something you HAVE to do every day, cooking has become more of a hobby for most people.
