A question about visiting america from another country with a passport?
Hi, so my fiancé is allowed to visit from Portugal for 90 days with only a passport. My question is, 90 days of what? 90 a year? 90 per trip? Nothing says how often, all I can find is “90 day stay without a visa”

That's 90 days, including day of entry as Day One, and day of departure is also counted as a separate day. You must be out at least as long as you were in, so that in no case you remain more than 180 days in any 365-day period (need not be calendar year).
Do NOT marry while he is visiting on ESTA! That's actually visa fraud, and he would still have to return home before you start petitioning for his spouse visa to US, or he starts petition process to bring you to Portugal as his spouse. IF you are at the point where you are considering marriage, and want to marry in US, then you need to apply & be approved for fiancé visa PRIOR to his arrival in US.

90 days in 90 days out...so 'potentially' you could visit twice in any 12 month period...you will also need an esta as well as your passport, or you will not be getting on the flight

he can stay for 90 days, but after he leaves, he may need a NEW VISA for another 90 days. Check with USA State Department offices.
