Why does my aux music sound low?
So I have after market speakers and amp to power them in my car. The radio sounds really nice and loud and i dont even have to turn it up all the way. However when I play music through my aux it sounds low and I have to turn it all the way up but still not as loud as the radio. What is wrong?

As what the other man said, the sensitivity of your AUX input may be too low. In that case, your music will play low.
Not all music are recorded at the same sensitivity. Old music from the 70's and 80's for example are recorded very poorly. Some people are compressing music from YouTube into MP3 formats. In that case, it will play very poorly and won't sound great. Some people are using a normalized gain leveler that automatically adjust the sensitivity of low quality music recorded poorly.

Signal levels vary, and sometimes they don't match well at all.
This is why volume controls typically have more range than should ever be necessary ---
it allows making up for such problems as you are experiencing.
In some cases, the sensitivity of an input is too high or too low
to work properly with average signal levels from average sources.
If it is too high, things get too loud too fast,
and if it is too low things never get loud enough.
One possible (and easy) cure for your problem would be a line-level (gain) amplifier.
Car stereo dealers worth their salt will know what you are talking about if you ask for one;
the rest will look at you as if you are nuts.
Find a dealer that doesn't think you are nuts and buy one there.
(If you can try it out before buying it, so much the better.)

Several reasons why.
Your music are recorded poorly.
You're listening to music off YouTube.
Your AUX input is defective or has junk stuffed inside.
Your AUX settings are not configured properly.
Your AUX cable is damaged.

I've had the same issue. Your specific aux cable is not meant for connection between your device and your car. For instance, I used the auxiliary cord that connects my speakers to my PC in my car. The sound was awful because it was designed for those speakers and PC connection specifically. You'll have to buy a new aux cord, just be sure it was made for cars and MP3 devices/phones. Also, if your car is somewhat newish (2010 and up), you ought to be able to connect through bluetooth and just play music wirelessly
