how to get western digital hard drive to work on other computers?

I have a 4tb external hard drive that is plugged into my desktop and works as it should. but when I try to connect it to another computer (desktop and laptop) it does show up in disk manager but not file manager. so I cant retrieve data or anything of that nature. but when I hook it back up to the original desktop it started on it works as it should. how can I make the hard drive connect to any computer and have it work as a normal external hard drive? any help is appreciated

also all operating systems for all computers were windows 10

Update:

it should work fine since the OS is same
