Do you know about the $300 oil changes for life and whether or not it's a good idea?

Lets see now: 5k miles between changes and 40 dollars per change. If you drive 20k miles a year for 10 years, that is 200k miles. so that's 40 oil changes x 40 bucks. which comes out to be 1,600 dollars. Yes that is an excellent deal if you keep you car that long and drive an average of 20k miles per year.

I think that would be a good deal for most people.

For life as in for as long as you own that particular vehicle? It might have to be synthetic oil to be worth it and the deal is only good if the shop remains in business.
