Can I get some sympathy?
Mocha, our 15 year old Ocicat went DEEP into hiding the other day, which was not like him. Yesterday we finally had to dig our way to Mocha and found him dead.
I thought I'd prepared myself for that possibility, but I was inconsolable. Although we have several other cats, Mocha was very special and (along with his inseparable BFF Abigail) was my husband's nightly "couch buddy" and even he shed a tear or two when we buried him yesterday.
Since I can't find a way to delete this question, I have to say that if a person doesn't have anything nice to say PLEASE don't say anything at all.

I'm really so sorry for you loss. I recently lost a kitty, too. I cried a lot, which is okay. I like to remember the cute and funny things he did. Mocha may have gone into hiding because he knew it was his time (that's not how it happened with my cat, but my friend's cat did that). Just know that he loved you and his siblings, and you gave him a great life. He was happy with you and knows you love him. <3

I am sorry for your loss. I know what it is like to lose a cat you have had for a while.
In 2009 a cat that I had for 17 years passed away.
Take some time to grieve but remember there are many kittens in this world that need homes.
One of our cat had a litter of seven kittens last week.
There is always new life beginning.
One very important tip when adopting a new cat.
(Let the cat choose you) and don't worry about what the cat looks like.
Don't go into it saying I want a white cat or I want a calico.
You might end up with a grey tabby that loves you silly.

I wrote an obituary for mt cat that died and posted it so my friends could see with some happy pictures of the cat. This helped me as much as anything get over her death. There are some online pet cemetaries too where you can share memories.

So what's your question? What do you mean you had to "dig" for this cat? What sort of freaking mess is your home???

No. You can't.

Am sorry for your loss. Some cats hide when they are dying. I have 3 Ocicats now. We did lose our first one at a young age due to complications from a UTI.

Lots of cats go hide when they feel like they're going to pass. They prefer to go in peace, without the fuss of family crying over them.
Just know that in the end your cat was ready to die. He knew he was ready that's why he went to hide.
I'm sorry you had to find him like that, that's really rough.
Its okay to mourn, but you have to learn to love again.

Can you? Yes. Will you? No
