What does a coat mean; I dreamt that I was looking for my coat and found one that was torn and wore it anyway?

A coat is a covering to keep you warm as you head into a cold region, or as the weather changes. So not having a good coat to wear symbolizes danger or ill heath for you, and the need to take better care of yourself so you can survive a brutal winter. Also you may be going through hard times and "feeling the cold" in another sense...Maybe you are "feeling the cold shoulder" of someone else, like a lover, a friend, a boss. You then would have the need for some type of protection against this other kind of coldness and the coat is a symbol of this protection.

It means you're thinking about it turning winter and probably need a new coat.
