Do colleges look at all your grades when transferring if you are transferring after 3 years?

Hello, I am hopefully going to be transferring after my 3rd year at my community college and was wondering if they all three years into consideration when they look at your transcript. I heard that you can pick and choose what grades the college you are applying to sees as long as all of the general ed classes are fulfilled with the classes you picked. Is this true or do they just look at all of your grades?

Yes they look at all but they may not accept some for transfer credits. You can not pick and choose what classes they look at.

Yes, they look at all the grades when you transfer The only thing you can "pick and choose" is to NOT have your transcripts sent by a Particular college you went to. You CANNOT pick and choose which courses grades get sent to the college or school you are transferring to, because the community college, NOT YOU, sends your ENTIRE transcript... The college you are transferring then evaluates ALL the courses and grades and decides which ones will transfer. The college will recalculate your cumulative GPA THEIR way of calculating cumulative GPA.

Does your community college have a reciprocity agreement with the university of the college your are transferring to.? That can make a big difference. you need to ask an academic adviser at your community college if there is reciprocity agreement. You CANNOT "Pick and choose" which courses transfer and which do not.

Your whole transcript is sent. Universities see every class you took and your grade in each class. You can not pick and choose what classes/grades/credits to send.

Yes, they will look at those, but they mainly focus on your cumulative GPA- which is all of your grades averaged out. I've never heard you can choose...but if you want to know for sure, just give the main office of the college you're transferring to and ask a transfer adviser.
