I've only been twice and only once in recent times. Powell's books is rightfully famous, even if you aren't big on books. It is the most hugest bookstore on Earth. And it sounds like you are reversing our trip - we went from Bend to Portland. Mt. Hood is along that way and it is seriously cool.
