If Jesus died so we could have eternal life, then why are people still dying? Romans 6:23?

The first humans, Adam and Eve, lost their lives because they sinned against God. (Genesis 3:17-19) Death was the only possible outcome of their rebellion against God, for with him is “the source of life.”—Psalm 36:9; Genesis 2:17.
Adam passed on the defect of sin to all his descendants. The Bible says: “Through one man sin entered into the world and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men because they had all sinned.” (Romans 5:12) All people die because they all sin.—Romans 3:23.
How death will be eliminated
God promises a time when “he will actually swallow up death forever.” (Isaiah 25:8) To remove death, he must eliminate its root cause, which is sin. God will do this through Jesus Christ, who “takes away the sin of the world.”—John 1:29; 1 John 1:7.

Jesus died in order to settle vital issues
Jesus was aware of the issues of universal importance that were raised back in the garden of Eden. Influenced by a rebellious spirit creature, Adam and Eve chose to disobey God. The couple’s rebellion called into question the rightness of God’s sovereignty, or way of ruling. Their sin also raised the question of whether any humans would prove faithful to God under test.—Genesis 3:1-6; Job 2:1-5.
Jesus gave the most conclusive answer possible to both issues—Jehovah’s sovereignty and human integrity. By his perfect obedience “as far as death . . . on a torture stake,” Jesus upheld God’s sovereignty. (Philippians 2:8) Jesus also proved that a perfect man could maintain perfect integrity to Jehovah despite the severest of trials.

We have not reached the end of this system for one. Another, we have to get into that New System or Paradise Earth and grow to perfection. This is when we will see death and old age be done away with. Just as it tells us in Rev. 21:3, 4 Jesus Christ told us to pray for that Kingdom Government to be on earth, as these conditions are in heaven. Matthew 6:
Soon, very soon we will be able to see things they way they were meant to be from the very beginning.

We can't be with God unless we die.
I'm a Baha'i, a member of the Baha'i Faith. We believe there is only one God, that sent Buddha, Jesus, Moses, etc to humanity, now Baha’u’llah has come. That religion is progressive, humanity changes, religious teachings must change with the times.

People sin.
Death is punishment for sin.
Eternal life is unending life.
It has already begun...
Source(s): The second advent is when death ceases ,,,for a while. For 1000 years ( approx ). THE LORD'S DAY. eternal death follows for the morally wicked people who will not change their ways. then death ceases after this forever. everyone else continues to live FOREVER. - Nacho the GreatLv 64 years ago
