the short cruises will be anything but romantic. they are full of people on a tight budget who want to maximize their drinking in as short a period of time as possible.

Just look for cruises of the length you want when you want to go from one of the ports most accessible to you. What goes on on the ship won't be of much interest to you because except for meals you will stay in your cabin honeymooning.

There are plenty of cruises on the southeast but jmho, a 7-day would be better.

Try Princess or Celebrity out of one of the South Florida cruise ports to the Southern Caribbean. Royal Caribbean would be another option. Carnival's shorter cruises tend to be a bit rowdy - a longer one might fill the bill. Depending on the time of year, Holland America is old school but may not fit your demographic. Our honeymoon was on the Carnival Victory out San Juan, Puerto Rico - we loved it. It was a week long, port intensive cruise
