    Will assume that you mean

    y = 16 x 10^(8k)

    y^(5/4) = [ 16 x 10^(8k) ]^(5/4)

    y^(5/4) = 32 x 10^(10k)

    y^(5/40 = 3•2 x 10^(10k + 1)

    y^(5/4) = (16 * 10^8k)^(5/4)

    y^(5/4) = 16^(5/4) * (10^(8k))^(5/4)

    y^(5/4) = (2^4)^(5/4) * 10^(8k * 5/4)

    y^(5/4) = 2^5 * 10^(10k)

    y^(5/4) = 32 * 10^(10k)

    y^(5/4) = 3.2 * 10^(10k+1)

    y^5/4 = (6 x 10^8k)^5/4

    = 6^(5/4) x (10^8k)^5/4

    = 6^(5/4) x 10^(8k•5/4)

    = 6^(5/4) x 10^(10k)
