Why do some people still believe the earth is flat even when it was scientifically proven otherwise?

They like their beer flat, so they reckon everything must be flat.

They probably can't even sing in tune.

They pick and choose what to believe.

Believing the earth is flat is just like any other conspiracy theory: they want to think that those scientists/the government are covering something up from the public, or feel that they're special and smart by believing in something that most people accept.

Umm.. because their mind is flat, as simple as that

Like libs, they believe only what they want to believe and can't stand anyone else's opinion except their own; no matter how much evidence there is.

I think it is because they enjoy the novelty of the concept.
