Why live to be very old and unproductive, isn't it a waste to just sit there day after day waiting to die?

Who wants to be 99 years old? The guy who's 98. What use have old people got when they consume so much of the youth's resources?
I guess it comes down to experience.. life experience. If they have none then sure pull the plug. I like talking to old people they're not as self-conscious as this new facebook generation.

living is why we exist.
love is why we exist.
doing both comes easy for those who will endure this test....
(to inherit eternal life)
- actually take it back. (satan and his sin stole this from many)
it takes strength to age gracefully.
while anyone can die young.
anyone can slip and fall on a banana peel and break their neck.
to not fall takes grace.
we must endure to attain or reject eternal life.
everyone reading this has work yet to finish.
truth be told

who is to judge who's life is worth living and to what standard?
The Elderly could find joy with being with family, friends and sharing wisdom with the young...is this a life worth living?
I believe as long as you're human , you have the right to life...
if you start setting dangerous criteria like age limit and productive value... one day someone might judge your life as unworthy of living.
This has happened in the past in Germany WW2..so be warned

MOST PEOPLE DO MUCH MORE THAN THAT...AND WHY IS IT YOUR BUSINESS WHAT OTHERS DO ANYWAY?

I once heard someone say, "I wouldn't want to live to be 80."
And someone who was a good deal older and wiser replied, "You would if you were 79."
It depends what you mean by 'productive'. Many people in the teens and 20s aren't 'productive'.
But if someone enjoys life, seeing their family, watching TV, reading, doing hobbies - that's still a life worth living. And as this life is all we'll ever get, only a fool would want to throw the very last bit of it away.
