France as you must know is a country, so most people who are French live there and it is also a popular tourist destination. "Je suis en France"=I am in France. On the other hand France can be a given name to a girl so there are quite a few individuals whose first name is France. Often it is attached to the name Marie with an hyphen in between so there are quite a few Marie-France too. A person whose first name is France will answer your question in French and say either "Oui je suis France" (Yes, I am France). If you had asked "Are you French?" then a French person speaking English would answer "Yes, I am French" .

    Hello Sharon,

No I'm not France because France is a country. Neither am I French because I was not born in France, although my mother was.
