yes you can be home schooled through high school. To do this you have to be connected with a local school district . Each state has their own system of grading and testing. and how often it is to hard to say just what is involved. You will have to visit your local scool district to find out what is required in your state.

Yes. Each state sets its own rules regarding homeschooling. In my state, for example, the parent must inform their County's Education Superintendent of their intent to home school by using a form called an "affidavit of intent to home school." Once that is done, the responsibility rests with the parent to teach their child.

Our state law states that homeschool parents must provide instruction in at least the subjects of reading, grammar, math, social studies, and science. However, the parent sets the graduation requirements. What is taught, when it is taught, what curriculum or resources are used, and what pace the work is completed is all up to the parent.

Homeschoolers do not need to follow state graduation requirements (in my state).

The best approach for a college-bound student is to check with the college they may be attending to find out their entrance requirements and to plan the high school course work to prepare them accordingly.

We happen to have a very homeschool friendly state. Some states have more (or many more) requirements that may include regular testing, portfolio reviews, interviews, day and/or hour logs, etc.

Yes. The laws vary from state to state, you have to look up the ones that apply to your state. Some states require testing by the school, some don't . Some require a teacher to oversee the schooling, some do not. ect. It also depends on how you choose to homeschool. Whether you elect to write your own curriculum and lesson plans or use standard ones. Whether you use an online private school, or enroll in an umbrella or cover school. Penn Foster is probably the leading home-based for profit private school. Some states have K-12 programs where you attend a virtual public school classroom online.

There are many variables and options that have to be researched and decided. Most schools have a Homeschool Coordinator that advises homeschooling families of their options and the requirements in their school district.

you have to have the government come out like once a month to make sure your parents or whoever is educating you is educating you right.
