Individual tastes are individual. You couldn't pay me to wear it but some other dude might think it's the coolest thing in the world. You won't know unless you try.

As others have said, he could not wear in in uniform. Few guys wear jewelry these days, but, if he likes this sort of thing, it would be okay.

He would not be allowed to wear it in uniform. But off duty he could. Lots of guys wear that sort of thing, it's no big deal.

It's not that it isn't unisex, it's just that most guys probably wouldn't wear that. Hippies and surfer dudes might. So it depends on your fiancé's style.
