Vegans, when you tell an acquaintance you are vegan, which answer to you find to be more disappointing?
A. That's cool. But I could never be vegan.
B. That's stupid. I thought you would know better.

I used to be to be option A Louis, and now option A hurts me the most because willful ignorance is not attractive at all.
We all jump in to save people who self harm, or have alcohol addictions, but when it comes to taste pleasure it is as if no one can do any wrong, even at the cost of the planet and personal health.
here is a question I posted to yahoo answers a few years ago, I am so ashamed.. but that is why I work so hard to dispel the lies and misinformation being spread by deniers and enablers.
These questions represent real humans with real experiences, I could not live with myself spreading death and disease because I have seen it first hand, and I have had to watch people close to me get sick due to diet related diseases.
"hi i have a flat mate who told me she was doing the 30 bananas a day challenge, she is a vegetarian turning vegan, and she is so up herself, always cringing when im cooking meat, telling me she is going to live longer, meat is bad, and so on.
so basically her vegan society persuaded her to do the 30 a day challenge and shes not even doing 12 a day, and i know shes sneaking off to eat real food outside our dorm,
is it 30 a day challenge or as many as you can challenge? i just wana put her in her place.
also as a side note to reduce my ignorance, what are the health benefits and side effects? how does it affect the digestive system, what will all that sugar do to you? will you lose or gain weight, radiation, potassium.
please explain to me why many vegans and fruitarians do it.

Look at how eager I was to comfort my cognitive dissonance, and find ways to tell her she was crazy, (she was crazy for mono dieting) but she had the right idea haha!
I am proud that as a logical person, I always try to seek out information, and i sincerely wanted to know why she was doing it, and what health benefits there were to being vegan.
The only thing stopping people from attaining optimal health is ignorance. We all have the capacity to learn, so I take solace in the fact I have done my tiny part to help people get a little bit healthier. and offset the damage I have caused in my life.
