Nissan Pathfinder 2008 V6 ... When I turn off the ignition with the key the battery drains?

Update:

Nissan Pathfinder 2008 V6 ... When I turn off the ignition with the key the battery drains as if it was still on the on position but not started. If I press the brake while the key is on the off position it stops draining the battery. what is the issue?

If your battery goes dead in several hours I'd have the alternator tested. A bad diode in the alternator will cause the battery to not full charge and it also allows power to drain. Any auto parts store can test the battery and charging system for you. They do that as a free service.

Sounds like a faulty brake light switch. It should be located up under the dash near the brake pedal arm.

Pull the brake light fuse. Battery drain stops, troubleshoot a bad brake light circuit. No joy, you will need to troubleshoot further with a clamp ammeter, test light/multimeter and a wiring diagram for the vehicle. It could simply be a bad ignition switch.
