How are singers paid?

For example, if a singer plays a show at a stadium, does the stadium pay them a certain percentage from the ticket sales or will they pay them a salary to perform and keep all the ticket sales

How singers are paid depends on the singer and the concert promoters. A singer may be paid a salary that covers the singer's expenses in addition to a small percentage of ticket sales, or the singer may opt to forego a salary and take a large percentage of the ticket sales.

They are paid a set amount before the concert. Let say Beyonce is doing a concert at a stadium, she is paid what her agent asks for.

Promoters are in the business of putting on shows. They sign artists to performance deals, they promote the shows, they make deals with venues, they see to all of the arrangements. Sometimes, if an act is big enough, they will promote themselves. In the past, record companies would arrange for a tour to promote a new records, that isn't done as much with the way the business has changed.
