How can I make the MLB?

My parents won't let me play organized sports. Have MLB players ever started playing as an adult and made it without playing other sports.

    Lorenzo Cain started playing baseball when he was a sophomore in high school. That's a little short of being an adult, but it shows that it might be possible.

    However, you would have to have a lot of innate athletic skill, and the ability to learn the game very quickly.

    So, to be honest, the likelihood is pretty small. But, if you don't try, the chance is exactly zero.
