Advice on starting college?
So it's been 5 years since I've been out of high school. I'm interested in finally starting college. However, it's been so long that I'm not sure where to get started, what I need, and where to go. I need advice on the first steps to get myself started in college?

Hello,
I just want to suggest the basic steps to consider to get into college.
1. First list out the colleges you want to get admissions (Consider you GPA)
2. Know the entry requirements for admission
3. All colleges accept SAT or ACT score to give admissions. So, practice SAT or ACT and get good score.
4. Practice essay writing and get expertise in language

Go to your local community college and talk to an academic advisor. He or she will show you the path to enrollment, help you figure out what classes to start with. They also have aptitude tests to help you decide what you'd be good at or what major would be best. Even if you don't end up enrollng at that school, you can get good advice.

Have you gone to an advisor, financial aid, admissions? You should also get an idea of what you want to major in and try to make a plan on how many classes you want to take with an advisor. Another tip is whenever you already get your classes try to study for them before classes start it'll help you tremendously! and SAVE SAVE SAVE especially if you don't end up qualifying for financial aid! College is very different from HS you're basically on your own! The professor or the college itself won't force you to attend classes. This also depends on the professor some of them don't take attendance, but it is still good to attend them anyway. Others will be strict as hell! Also try asking around or check on ratemyprofessor.com on selecting professors! Some can be a total nightmare, but also don't try taking a bunch of easy A professors since you're there to learn and use that knowledge for your field. GOOD LUCK!
