I think we'd all like to be in control over at least some things in our lives/as opposed to feeling powerless and vulnerable. We feel safer when we can be predictable; also when we know that which comes won't hurt us... I think it all has to do with owning ourselves; with a divine destiny to be Personally Sovereign.... over those matters that matter to us in those personal sovereign realms!
Control seems to eliminate some fears... or so it's thought to.
