How long can the average British House Spider live without food or water?

Like, if it was just in the same position forever, how long would it survive? I googled it and it said they live for a maximum period of 2-3 years but I think that's if they had food and water.

I am only familiar with the giant house spiders, in captivity, they can live a bit over 3 years, that is with ample food.

If they have a little water like dew on webs, they can go several months without eating like they may do in the winter.

They can stay in a torpid state like hibernating all winter.

Say, if you trapped a spider in a jar, they would die from desiccation(dehydraion) before starving, that could be as long as a month.

These are on my favorite spider list, I wouldn't want to see them go without very long.

A note, males take about a year to mature and don't survive that following winter. 1 1/2-2 years max.
