Has Yahoo Answers lost the ability to detect languages?

I reading Yahoo Answers in the U.S. Increasingly I'm seeing questions in Chinese, at this point *most* of the questions are in Chinese.

And if Google Translate is reasonably accurate, this is spam and gibberish in Chinese, not actual questions.

Is anyone else seeing this? Is YA falling apart?

Yahoo Answers (this version) never had a specific ability to 'detect languages' in the first place . This is the English language version of Yahoo Answers. Post in any other language are a violation here, unless they are asking a question about another language and posted in the Languages subcategory.

The posts you refer to come from spam bots, but one or more humans are programming them. They are being paid by the company they are posting for, to enhance search engine optimization for that company (or so it appeared when the posts began many weeks ago). We don't know when or if Yahoo will take action, although whomever is running YA’s Facebook page commented on 7-16-18 that it was being worked on (that comment was in reply to another user’s answer to a question about favorite flavor of ice cream, if you want to verify it). All we can do is report them, ignore them, or leave YA. The posts are ALL OVER the site. Hopefully they will be dealt with soon. MANY questions have been asked about this already (it amazes me so few people think to check in the Answers category to see if a problem with the site has already been addressed). The site's been heavily flooded with them since the weekend of 7/7/18.

7 of 10 answers are in chinese now. All have the same origin. Yahoo can not be ignorant of this. Maybe it is an effort to kill the answers forum. Discourage users, shut it down from lack of use!

No. YA is available in SIX Asian languages, Chinese , Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Malaysian and Indonesian.

YA IS BEING ATTACKED by server computers, and computer programs and scripts PROGRAMMED by MULTIPLE people. to intentionally SPAM YA and flood YA with Asian language questions. THERE ARE NO Yahoo or Verizon employees MONITORING OR MODERATING the YA forums. Yahoo DID NOT and Verizon DOES NOT pay employees to do that because EVERY YA user is an UNPAID moderator of YA. Ya is being SPM attacked through security breaches that have existed FOR YEARS starting in 2010. Verizon?OATH BOUGHT the security breaches and got A DISCOUNT because of them. YahoO did not KNOW there had been major security breach in 2013 until it started investigating the 2011 security reach m and the only reason Yahoo Inc investigated the 2011 security breach was Yahoo inc was probably ALREADY UP FOR SALE..

This spam attack has been gong on for @ MONTHS, and it it excalated in July. ALLANY OF can do is REPORT all the answers those SPAM question may have and then report the questions as ToS violations. They are posted TOO fast for any one person to bedoingt the postin MANUALLY and it is impossible for to report as fast as the spam questions are being posted. Some level7 accounts have ANNOUN CED on YA that they are MOBIG the questions to the Languages subcategory. It takes MORE TIME to do that manyally than it DOES to report the question s.

AND FYI Yahoo Inc. IS DEAD. Verizon Oath has OWNED Yahoo AND YA FOR MORE THAN A YEAR. How LONG ahs ti been since you have been ON YA. Tis has been going on FOR WHO MONTHS../

    Yahoo inc. IS DEAD. HISTORY.

You have 12 YEAR OLD Level 7 ACCOUNT and you do not KNOW YA is community moderated. UNBELIEVABLE.

Oh, you haven't been on YA in 7 months. EVERY BODY is Seeing this.. Yahoo's stockholders revolted 4 YEARS ago..
