What is this world coming to, we are pleasantly surprised when Trump is picking a respected meteorologist who on the face of it, does not deny climate science. Isn't that the sort of thing that should be normal?

Droegemeier was just appointed, so it's too early to judge. In the atmospheric science community, he is universally respected.
