Because Verizon has MAJOR email problems that have been on going for YEAR now. is why many people's notifications are blank. Verizon is no lon ger asking me to ENABLE notifications either in email or on YA. Verizon HAS to FIX the email problems to fix the notifications problems. With the recent and still ongoing Asian language spam attack, Verizon staff has higher priority things to deal with right now,, and not enough employees to to "fix" things in a timely manner.. Verizon has OWNED Yahoo and YA and Yahoo mail since June 13-14, 2017. Becoming completely fluent in any proprietary programming g language in unique DIALECT takes TIME for human beings.
Notifications have been DOWN for MONTHS or even a year for many users, and only days or weeks for other users. NO ONE KNOWS WHY UNLESS they are a Verizon employee.

Mine are too, nearly 2 weeks now. Yahoo is falling apart at the seams. For a few months, I lost my user name and Yahoo replaced it with a ?. Now I have it back, but the notifications quit working. Links to appeal sometimes work and sometimes don't. Violation notices sometimes come thru and often don't. Yahoo answers is getting a bit demented, IMHO.

As the many other questions that have been asked about this issue, here in this category, indicate...Notifications is down for some users and we don't know why. About the time some users started to ask about it being down, other users were still getting notifications on their YA page ( https://answers.yahoo.com/notifications ). I'm getting them myself.
Notification emails for the site have been down for many months, other than a brief period this past spring, and a brief moment last week (I got an email notice on 8/3 that one of my answers was reported, but nothing since then). I'm not sure if anyone is still receiving the email notifications or not.
