I live in North East England and a huge bug came in, if I didn't know better I would say its the spawn of Satan himself. Help?!?

Looks like cross between crane fly, beetle and dragonfly and is bright red, approximately 10cm diameter. What is this evil creature?

    If it is was a combination of the three things you describe it would look very unusual. If you wanted it identified a photo would have been far more useful than puerile claims it is like Satan and evil.

    Looks like a crane fly,,it probably is.

    These sting you, you will believe in Satan himself. Thankfully, not very aggressive.

    I'm not sure, but as a fellow North East England-er I hope I get nothing like it fly into my place!

    The obvious answer may be a Red Crane Fly
