In the first place, you're only 15 years old. YOU can't buy ANY car - electric, hybrid, or gas-powered. Your dad will have to buy a car for you to use. That car will have to be titled in his name, and he will allow you to drive HIS car. Your best bet is for your father to buy you a 5 or 6 year old Toyota. You can't AFFORD to drive a hybrid/electric car!

All-electric cars might be the wave of the future, but unfortunately the future isn't here yet. An all-electric car might go 100 miles on a charge (if you're lucky), before it has to be re-charged. When the electric battery runs out of juice, you come to a complete stop, maybe out in the middle of nowhere. Re-charging stations are few and far between. You're not going to find one on every corner, like you do a gas station. Not only that, you have to keep replacing the electric batteries in a hybrid or an all-electric car; and those batteries are VERY expensive.

Most owners of all-electric cars have to pay to have a VERY EXPENSIVE electrical outlet run to their garage, so they can "plug in" their car every night, in order to store enough juice to get them to where they want to go and back again the next day. Sort of like re-charging your cell phone overnight.

A hybrid will run on either gas or electric. But, you still have to keep gas in the tank of the car so that you can "switch" from electric to gas, if you have to.

A 4 wheel electric taxi car or cart. They are very cheap right now. Have been dumped on the market. Go for 1 to 2 thousand U.S. Government thought they would cut air pollution. Payed for the solar barns to charge the battery's. Paid part on the electric taxies. Soon as the Government program ended. Every one went back to gas. So they are for most all for sale now at Government outlets for cheap.

Your mommy and daddy know about these things and of course, they will be the one's that actually own it and pay the insurance.

Nissan Leaf is the ONLY ELECTRIC in your price range.

For hybrids the best option is a Prius. None of the other hybrids are worth looking at.

You really don’t have any other options.

Buy what you can afford to own and maintain.

You're gonna need a private seller, not a dealer to have ANY chance at finding a hybrid for less than $10k. Check craigslist.org and and your local news papers. Good luck finding something at your price.

Get a 98 Neon so you do not cry when you wreck it.

A 15 year old loking to buy a hybrid/electric? Good luck with that.

Why do you start with "so"? It's completely meaningless.
