I picked up a used tv stand with a mount on the back but it needs brackets. Can I use any type to mount the tv?

No. My husband just bought one for his man-cave. He took a pic of the label on the back of the tv, took it to Best Buy and they directed him to the brackets he needed. It worked perfectly.
