My parents neglected me as a child and now I'm a bit stupid. If I have a child could the child become normal or would my stupidity rub off?

Almost all of us have similar intelligence. What do you use yours for? Some people use their intelligence to socialize, some use it to do research. Some use it to be a responsible mom, some use it to be an artist. Your child will be fine. If you want your child to have academic intelligence, encourage reading, the arts, curiosity on how things work, etc. If you work hard (and don't let the internet babysit or use drugs), your kid could grow up and be a rocket scientist?
