What jurisdiction does the FBI have over rape cases which have gone decades beyond their statute of limitations?

    They have no jurisdiction regarding the criminal matter. However, I believe it is the FBI s responsibility to basically do background checks on nominees. They have completed their check on Kavenaugh (actually done this multiple times as he was nominated for prior judicial positions and had to be confirmed) and there is no reason to reopen that investigation.
