What is the key difference, the critical moment or ingredient that distinguishes a skeptic from a moron?

Update:

not a rhetorical question. I want to know why some people grow up and buy miracle spring water and some people actually have critical thoughts

Skeptics want evidence. Morons don't. Skeptics recognize the existence of evidence. Morons don't.

Skeptic - one who says, "I would have to see convincing evidence before I admit that this claim is true."

Moron - one who says, "My mind is made up. Don't confuse me with evidence."

A skeptic will analyze a large body of evidence and conclude by saying, "The evidence is not convincing."

A moron will analyze a large body of evidence and conclude by saying, "There is no evidence."

A skeptic wants solid proof of everything, a moron doesn't understand the facts even when they slap him in the face.

Wanting to live in an evidence based world is moronic?

Blind belief is natural and we would not survive childhood without it. But our trusted parents and elders often take advantage. Mixing in myth and superstition. Sometimes they win.

These people don’t embrace reality and the desire to live in a evidence based world. The reality is we’re all pattern seeking creatures that can be fooled. Critical thinking skills, science literacy, and skepticism are tools that must be taught.
