Should I buy a 35kW restricted Yamaha R6 as my second bike?
I have owned a Yamaha YBR 125 for a year and a couple of months. I am tired of it, as it lacks power going uphill and it's always screaming on the highway. I'm thinking of getting a 2005 35kW R6 as my second bike. Should I? Are the R6 reliable?

There is no way of guessing whether a thirteen year old bike is in good nick or not. It could be, I have two Yamahas that are considerably older and still running well, but it is (or was) a flagship sports bike and could easily have been a trackway bike and ragging it round a track is going to take its toll.
Go and have a look at it, take someone you trust to talk you out of a rash purchase. But get an insurance quote first.
As for the restriction – who would do that, they could have bought any number of more suitable bikes to strangle the power off without wasting cash on an R6 – and that would give me pause to think.

You should not be on the highway on a 125. Get a bigger bike if you need to ride highways. Test ride the R6. Yamahas are quite reliable.
