Why is the Bible so vague and unconvincing regarding LGBT people ?

The whole "god hates that" seems to come from alot of speculation about vague statements

its not that the bible is vague, its just that people are glossing over the meanings and the metaphors and placing literalism in its place, the real objective to learning is to figure out what the characters represent, and I know from my many years of study and prayer and meditation, its a book of the human mind (Ego) and your Spirit...... your mind belongs to the body which is bound by mans law which is sin, mans law usually represents the first son (flesh/body) as in Abraham's son Ishmael who was conceived through a bond woman (not a free spirit) but his second son Isaac was conceived from a barren womb by the grace of God and was mad a Child of Promise, which is of the Spirit, not the Flesh...... this is telling us something important, our values are attached to the body which houses our ego minds, our ego is in contradiction to our Spirit, sin belongs to the ego, Salvation belongs to your spirit from which God gave it......Love is Love is Love....God can only Love and that is where our salvation is gifted us by Gods faith in us, it matters not what you are, if your walking in love, your walking with God.

As ever, you're right. The Old Testament is pretty clear about not liking LGBT people, but it also condemns the eating of pork, bacon, ham and shellfish, and requires women to go outside the city walls during their period because they are unclean. As the average Christian does not comply with all of these rules, perhaps we should ignore the OT too like they do.

That leaves us with the NT, which has only 3 places referring to anything LGBT. Romans 1 clearly states that God condemns homosexuals to Hell because of their choices - so clearly this is not a nice god, and he DID make people who could make that choice. If this god exists, it must be a sadist. The other two references are unclear in the original Greek as the Greek words don't appear in any other ancient literature, so maybe at one time people DID know what they meant but nobody knows now. The best theological research suggests that they might refer to paedophile sex with boys, as sometimes happened in ancient Athens, but really nobody knows.

It all goes to show there is a HUGE difference between the actual Bible and what churches say it means. It is the churches themselves that are the problem and they are best ignored. Treat the Bible as a 2000 year old book written in a time when nobody really thought about it all and you will be much happier.

According to 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 it shows that those who submit to homosexual acts or practice homosexuality will not inherit God’s Kingdom.

Scripture is clear. You reading one of the modern (per)versions?

Romans 1 is very direct, not even a little vague, and calls it as abomination. SDG.

The Bible is very clear that we are all sinners, irrespective of whether we have sexual practices that fit in with God's clearly stated purposes for sex.

The question in the Bible is never about which particular sins we engage in, but the fact that the Son of God died for all the sins humans commit, so that the righteousness of God can be seen in punishing Jesus for all sin (though He had never sinned). That has opened up the way for those convicted of their sinfulness to change their minds totally, and so to begin agreeing with God. They can then put faith in what Jesus did to deliver them from the wrath of God due to their sin (whatever that sin is). When they do that, they have available all the resources of Heaven to change their lives into conformity with God's holy standards.

Transgenderism just wasn't known until comparatively recently. Naturally occurring transgenderism (and bisexuality) is so incredibly rare it is clearly an abnormality, not due to anything the person has done - it's due to bad mutations, basically. Sadly, a big social experiment is now going on to encourage transgenderism and bisexuality on such a scale that people will think it's normal. That's why the Bible doesn't mention it specifically. The words had not been invented back then. But the biblical principles of how to use sex within God-given bounds for the reproduction of children between a man and a woman are perfectly clear.

If you read Romans 1:24 through 28, I think you will find explanations that are not the least bit vague.

The bible isn't vague about anything at all. It states plainly the fate of those who engage in such activities. You're trying to spin it in a way that's more convenient for you.

Clearly, people who fall into this category need help and help is available to them but they would rather continue to live out their own sordid lifestyle.

There is nothing vague about what the scripture tell us concerning this topic.

Notice it only mentions homosexuality but not transgender in anyway
