Why does Donald Trump feel the need to deny, denounce, distance himself from David Duke? Why not just come out and say they know each other?

Even if they do know each other that does not mean that Trump believes in what Duke stands for.

If someone were to have a one-time KKK member as her "friend and mentor" then I think she might well have some shared beliefs with the Klan.

He has dropped the idea of hiding from the nationalist label. There is video footage of him looking at the KKK supporter who said the KKK stands with Trump and then looking away and addressing the crowd. He knows the crowd is there. Why can't he just come out and say what he wants to say, that David Duke would make a better Senator than the guy he ran against? Why can't Donald to say the words? Why must Donald say he doesn't like David Duke, other than the mention of fine people in the Duke-led rally? Noticed that when the media first pressed him to disavow David Duke support, he said there might be fine people he would have to look into it. The word fine was used both times. So why must he pretends he doesn't like David Duke? Because the media wants him to?

Think about it, Klan. It's about time Donald went on TV and not only said yes he is a nationalist, but that yes he endorses David Duke, openly out in the open.
