Deforestation indeed makes it worse, but it is not solely the reason. There is no one culprit behind rising greenhouse gases. It's multiple factors all contributing.

If you use a time interval of a 100 years, it has been getting slightly warmer and it has warmed for the last 300 years generally but there have been minor cooling periods in there too so it hasn't been a straight line. It was about the same 1000 years ago and it was even warmer 6000 years ago so it isn't really true that the earth is getting warmer. In the last 10 million years, it has cooled significantly.

There are reasons for both but I suspect natural causes outweigh man made causes but when you are exaggerating for political reasons, you tend to minimize natural changes.

CO2 isn't the thermostat of our atmosphere. In the past, changes in temperature occurred first followed by changes in CO2. In other words, CO2 wasn't a driver of temperature change but global warming alarmists need for you to believe it is all about CO2 so they can use that for their petty political agenda. CO2 is primarily changed to O2 by photosynthesis. Otherwise it is pretty stable. Although there has been deforestation, some of those forests were replaced by other plants also producing CO2. Our planet has greened in the last couple decades probably due to CO2 fertilization.

It's both. Deforestation means carbon that is locked away in solid biomatter (trees and soil) gets converted back into gaseous CO2. So solid carbon goes down through deforestation, resulting in CO2 in the atmosphere increasing.

Releasing the carbon that has been locked out of the carbon cycle for millions of years (coal, oil, natural gas) also increases CO2 in the atmosphere.

Fossil fuels are a much larger contributor to the rise in atmospheric CO2 than deforestation, but deforestation is still significant, accounting for about 10-20% of the total incoming flux.

The Radiative Greenhouse Effect hypothesis has not been proven by the Scientific Method and is a myth. CO2 has been proven by the Vostok and Greenhouse ice core scientific analysis to follow world temperature increases, not lead.

The warming in the 1980s, 1990's was due to a Sun cycle called a Solar Grand Maximum, which ended in 2003. In 2009 the Sun started transitioning into Solar Grand Maximum cycle, whose full effects will be felt around 2024 and last for 30 or so years.

These solar events have been predicted, have occurred in the past and is occurring again. Humans have no control, the Sun is the master, our ancestors knew it and that is why it was worshiped.

Earth is clearly becoming warmer.
