Is saying that a movie had a happy/sad ending considered a spoiler?
I often use the golden rule when it comes to spoilers. It's just common courtesy. Whether or not you mind spoilers, I think it makes sense to not spoil movies for people if they aren't going to appreciate that. You like to watch movies your way, I like to watch movies my way. Sure, we are never going to satisfy everyone, but I think a general rule would be to put a "spoiler alert" in front of whatever that would give away an important plot in the movie. I think most people have a pretty good idea about what constitutes a spoiler, and so do I. The only thing I remain ambiguous about, is whether or not saying if a movie had a sad or happy ending is considered a spoiler. For me, personally, it kind of gives away that something tragic happened or didn't happen, and you could make a pretty good guess that it might mean that a character did or didn't die. What do you think?
