What would happen if the top scorer at the World Cup was a player who had scored own goals?

Unlikely I know, but would he get the golden boot?

No,because the aim of the game is to get the ball in the opponents onion bag more than they do in yours...own goals do not count.

  • Well thought out but , they wouldn't count man, it wouldn't be logical, how would that fit in with the premise of "golden" boot....where "golden is associated with winning being the best etc in this context....still it's a reasonable thought..

Watch it. There’s not a lot to do. Kane did a great job.

No, they only include goals scored against opposing teams when they give out the golden boot. Own goals don't count.

A goalkeeper would win because many goals go in off the keeper.

Are you under the impression that own goals count for the player's overall goal tally? They don't.
