Her title was not Princess Diana.

The government of the day and the public made the queen properly mourn the princess. Diana was beloved and the public saw to it that she was properly honoured at her death.

NOBODY, anywhere, has ever been more famous than Queen Elizabeth II. She has been followed by the press and photographed ever since she was a very young Princess and her father was still Duke of York - even before she was a teenager during WWII and her father had become King.

Probably not, as the press had covered Queen Elizabeth through decades, at least since WWII, while the press on Diana was more compressed due to scandal and her short life.

Her proper title was Diana, Princess of Wales. Only a female who is born or bestowed a princess in her own right correctly uses the title "princess" with her own given name. A woman, such as Diana, who assumed her status through marriage, uses her husband's given name with the title. That is the protocol, the rule.
Elizabeth II is Queen Regnant--she was more famous than Diana then and now. Diana was quite popular and considered one of the world's most photographed women.

Yes she was, She did lots of stuff, while the Queen didn't get out much and rarely smiled, Prince George is the most famous now, and if you disagree he will hold his breath till he turns blue.
